Youngest first-round draft pick Olin Okoye be left out of Mix

August 2nd, 2011 at 01:53 am

As the Chicago Bears signed a two-year, $2.5 million contract with the Bears, the Bears should risk of losing their six-time Pro Bowl center, Olin Okoye, who is the youngest first-round draft pick and has six-time Pro Bowl appearances. Before center Olin Okoye wore Chicago Bears jerseys, Olin wore Houston Texans jerseys for four years. Wearing Houston Texans jerseys, Okoye had 138 tackles, 11 sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Of course, Olin Okoye had a wonderful season in 2011, with a career-high 44 tackles, including three sacks. However, the Houston Texans spent six of their eight draft picks on defensive players, and new coordinator Wade Phillips plans to use Shaun Cody and Earl Mitchell at nose tackle, leaving Okoye out of the mix. During four seasons with the Houston Texans, Okoye had 138 tackles, 11 sack, two forced foumbles and two fumble recoveries. Therefore, it might be kind of sad now for the Chicago Bears to trade Olin Okoye. With Marion Barber Bears jersey’s addition in the Bears jerseys locker, Therefore, it’s Chicago’s responsibility to reconsider the release of Olin Okoye, or the release move will greatly harm Olin Okoye.
